When Jordan Montgomery is anticipated to sign is revealed by the report.
Even though there is not much time left, Jordan Montgomery might sign a deal before Opening Day.
On Sunday, Jim Bowden of MLB Network spoke on SiriusXM Radio and provided an update on the situation with left-hander Montgomery, who is a free agent. Montgomery is anticipated to sign a contract this week, according to him.
“The market for Montgomery is here,” declared Bowden. “It’s likely that he will sign this coming week.” It’s getting increasingly cutthroat.
Additionally, Bowden stated that Montgomery currently has two “long-term offers” on the table, although he did not say which teams were making them.
During the previous season, the 31-year-old Montgomery finished 10-11 with a 3.20 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. While fellow holdouts Blake Snell, JD Martinez, Cody Bellinger, and Matt Chapman have accepted shorter-term contracts, he has persisted in waiting for a deal. He was a member of the Texas Rangers’ World Series-winning club.
Montgomery appears to have several long-term offers to pick from, so it looks like his lengthy wait will pay off.
Since we recently learned that Montgomery was again in talks with at least one prominent club, it is also easy to speculate as to which teams might be involved.
