Kalen DeBoer, the head coach of Alabama, grinned broadly at the podium during the second scrimmage on Saturday.
He was happy with the Crimson Tide’s advancements at Bryant-Denny Stadium, particularly the pass-protecting offensive line. In the first scrimmage, Coach DeBoer saw a steady pass rush, but this time, the offensive front was able to keep the quarterbacks clean.
A four-star recruit from Northridge High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in the 2023 class, Wilkin Formby was among the class’s top and most technically sound tackles. The 6-foot-7, 320-pound player participated in three games for the Alabama team that won the Southeastern Conference the previous year.
During spring practice, Formby, a redshirt freshman, has been splitting time at right tackle with Miles McVay, another player in the 2023 signing class.
