Done Deal: Just In Auburn Tigers Confirm The Signing Of Another Talented Alabama FanStar

Four-star OT who was raised as an Alabama supporter is signed by Auburn.
Hugh Freeze, the head coach of Auburn, must believe he is creating a competitive product on the plains.

Sure, Auburn finished 2023 with a 6-7 record and three straight defeats, including one in the Music City Bowl; however, Freeze has been attracting top talent, and the second year of a new system is typically always better.

His class of 2024 was placed seventh nationwide. In addition to ranking in the top ten, his class of 2025 just got even better with the acquisition of Mobile, Alabama’s Carde Smith, a four-star offensive tackle.

On Wednesday, Smith, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman prospect, chose Auburn over Mississippi State for his commitment.

Smith explained his choice to On3, saying, “It’s very family-oriented, it’s close to home, I’ve got a real good connection with the coaches and they’ve just made me feel like I’m at home.”

Smith must be pretty crazy to consider being a Tiger as he was an Alabama Crimson Tide supporter growing up. Having said that, it seems like he valued being near his house greatly. The civilization that Freeze is establishing on the plains appeals to him as well.

Smith declared, “They won’t sugarcoat it: you’re going to work when you come to Auburn.” “You’re not too far from home—you’re just around the corner.”

Smith is ranked as the No. 23 offensive tackle in the 2025 class by 247Sports.
