Apparently, the Ravens have signed former All-Pro returner
The Baltimore Ravens, who were defeated in the AFC victory Game the previous year, are preparing for what they think will be a third Super Bowl victory run.
In addition to quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is currently the NFL’s reigning regular-season MVP, they have added a number of notable players this summer.
Tom Pelissero revealed on Wednesday that Deonte Harty, a member of the special team, was signed by the Ravens to a one-year deal.
Expert at both kickoff and punt returns, Harty led the league in punt returns as a rookie in 2019 with 338 yards, which helped him earn a spot in the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro First Team that same season.
He signed with the New Orleans Saints, the team he played for until signing with the Buffalo Bills before the 2019 season, after going undrafted in 2019.
He made NFL punt return history in 2023 when, in Week 18, he returned a kickoff 96 yards for a score against the Miami Dolphins.
In his five professional seasons, Harty has totaled 79 catches for 943 yards and five touchdowns while also occasionally line up on offense as a wide receiver.
This offseason, Baltimore made waves by signing free-agent running back Derrick Henry. Henry, a four-time Pro Bowler, was among the select few players to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season in 2020.
They added linebacker Patrick Queen, an up-and-coming talent who was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2023, to bolster their defense, even though they led the league in points allowed the previous campaign.
With all of these acquisitions, head coach John Harbaugh and his team are expecting to win it all this winter and get an advantage against the Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions.
