Breaking News: Browns Veteran Announces Surprise Retirement

The NFL’s daily transaction wire recently announced the retirement of three Cleveland Browns players, including veteran offensive lineman Justin Murray. Additionally, wide receiver Rashard Higgins and linebacker Christian Kirksey opted for retirement and signed one-day contracts to retire as members of the Browns.

Murray, who last played for the Tennessee Titans in four games during the 2023 season, has had a diverse NFL career, previously suiting up for the Bills, Cardinals, and Raiders after entering the league as an undrafted free agent from Cincinnati in the 2016 NFL Draft. Over his career, he has accumulated 20 starts and appeared in a total of 41 NFL games.

The announcement of Murray’s retirement comes as teams prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft, prompting speculation that the Browns may prioritize drafting an offensive tackle early given the loss of depth in their offensive line with Murray’s departure.
