Latest Auburn News: Auburn Tigers Confirm On The Verge Of Signing Another Top Experienced Pass Rusher

A top transfer portal pass rusher might improve Auburn’s defense in 2024.
He is scheduled to make an official visit to the Tigers.
Auburn needs to use the Transfer Portal to gain talent and depth if it wants to reach its full potential in 2024.

A key Arkansas State defensive end target on the Transfer Portal will make an official visit to the Plains to aid in making that happen. Chris Hummer of 247 reports that Keyron Crawford is the player who will be visiting Auburn on Sunday. This is an excerpt from the article:

Regarding his sophomore season, Crawford stated, “I focused more on my craft and paid attention to what’s more important: My technique and my get off.” “Obviously, that wasn’t the best. However, there was unquestionably progress and growth between my freshman and sophomore years.”

Having spent the majority of his youth playing basketball, Crawford’s decision to adapt to football and his skill as a pass rusher make him a desirable addition to the SEC. At 6-foot-4 and 243 pounds, he is only starting to reach his full potential.

Crawford’s 2023 stats, sourced from CFBStats.com, include 44 tackles, 5.5 sacks, 10.5 tackles for loss, and a pass deflection. Remember that Crawford is still getting to know the role.

In addition to Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Missouri, Arkansas, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Stanford, Cal, and other universities have made offers to Crawford.

Crawford’s addition to Auburn’s depth chart would help Jalen McLeod, the starting edge rusher, by reducing the number of snaps he takes, and it would also ease the workload for rookies like Amaris Williams and Jamonta Waller.

Crawford has two more years of eligibility following his move.
