Jay Fair, a wide receiver for Auburn, apparently logs into the transfer site.
Jay Fair, a junior wide receiver for Auburn, will allegedly register his name into the transfer portal and attempt to test the transfer waters after two seasons on The Plains.
On3 Sports and Mike Gittens of The War Rapport were among the first to break the news on Saturday.
Last fall, Fair finished as Auburn’s third-best pass receiver with 31 receptions for 324 yards and two touchdowns.
Fair was targeted five times in Auburn’s A-Day spring game, and he only caught one catch for six yards.
Robert Lewis, a transfer receiver from Georgia State, pulled in five receptions for 73 yards, while freshman Cam Coleman concluded the game as Auburn’s top receiver with 92 yards on four catches and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the new faces in the Tigers’ wide receiving group shone during the spring game. Sam Jackson V, a transfer receiver from Cal, also recorded two catches for a total of 27 yards.
Furthermore, it appeared from Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze’s post-game remarks that he and the Tigers intend to bolster their wide receiver class with further quality.
There are still a few spaces available on our roster, according to Freeze. If you must fill it, let’s do so with receivers and D-line. That’s where I believe we need to provide some more nuance.
According to reports, Fair is transferring, so the following players will be in Auburn’s wide receiver room: senior Koy Moore, senior Robert Lewis from Georgia State, junior Camden Brown, junior Sam Jackson from Cal, sophomore Camden Burton III, freshman Cam Coleman, freshman Bryce Cain, and newly enrolled Malcolm Simmons and Perry Thompson.
