Walton is rated as a three-star talent by 247Sports. He is the 37th-ranked safety prospect in the nation, coming in at 453rd overall. Walton is no longer in Moody, Ala. Tennessee was his preference over Ole Miss and Arkansas. Walton also had offers from a number of other states, including Missouri, West Virginia, Louisville, and Kentucky. Just two weeks after making his unofficial tour to the college on April 6th, he commits.

Tennessee made an offer on September 9th, the first time an SEC offer was made to him. Walton paid a visit to Knoxville during the Austin Peay, Texas A&M, and Georgia football games in the fall. In January, he came back for a junior day function.

The 6-1, 185-pound prospect’s junior season saw him record 39 tackles. Walton was also given credit for a forced fumble and an incredible 28 pass breakups during the season. Walton, who is listed as a safety, would be a good fit for Tennessee’s STAR role.
