News from the Auburn Tigers: WR Jay Fair accesses the transfer site, and Aden Holloway pledges to Alabama
The transfer portal is opened by Auburn football wide receiver Jay Fair, and former Auburn basketball guard Aden Holloway has committed to Alabama, according to today’s Auburn Tigers News.
Auburn football wide receiver Jay Fair joins the transfer portal, and former Auburn basketball guard Aden Holloway commits to Alabama in today’s Auburn Tigers News.
The transfer portal now includes an official second Auburn football portal. Jay Fair, a wide receiver, was let go from the team on Saturday morning. In the recruiting class of 2022, Fair, a three-star talent out of high school, committed to the Tigers.
Following two seasons on the Plains, Fair amassed 358 yards with two touchdowns and 38 receptions. Despite her great talent, Fair had a difficult season finale. It’s hardly surprising that Fair will be looking at other possibilities because the new receiver corps is starting to take shape and he was probably quite far down the depth chart.
Aden Holloway, formerly of Auburn basketball, has committed to Alabama.
Aden Holloway, a former player for Auburn basketball, declared his allegiance to Nate Oats and the Crimson Tide when visiting Tuscaloosa. Holloway, a five-star prospect out of high school and a McDonald’s All American, only spent one season playing for Bruce Pearl at Auburn.
Despite having a strong start to the season as a behind-the-arc player, his contributions waned and occasionally nearly stopped, particularly when SEC play started. Prior to deciding to commit to the Tide, he visited no other schools after logging onto the transfer portal on April 9.
Holloway averaged 7.3 points on 31.8 percent shooting and 2.7 assists in 20.2 minutes per game during the 2023–24 campaign. Although he rotated a lot with Tre Donaldson, who also went via the transfer portal, he started around thirty games.
Denver Jones, Chad Baker-Mazara, and seniors Johni Broome, Dylan Cardwell, and Chris Moore will all be back for the Tigers. JP Pegues, a transfer guard from Furman, and Tahaad Pettiford, an incoming freshman, will be among the new arrivals.
