Latest Brown News: Cleveland Browns Lose Former Amazing NCAA Champion And 2020 Draft Pick To The Houston Texans

Every Cleveland Browns fan is incredibly eager for the 2024 season to begin after the team had one of its best seasons ever the previous one. One man, though, who has been with the team for the previous four seasons, won’t be sitting out this season.

Last season, the Cleveland Browns’ defense was excellent.
Thanks in large part to defensive end Myles Garrett, who won his first NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award, and new defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, the Cleveland Browns fielded one of the greatest defenses in 2023. The defense also featured linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, who made a name for himself by making the Pro Bowl the previous season. Even so, he won’t be sharing the field with another linebacker until 2020.

The Browns Experience A Linebacker Loss
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that former Browns free agent linebacker Jacob Phillips is inking a one-year contract with the Houston Texans.

According to a source, the Texans have signed former Browns free agent linebacker Jacob Phillips to a one-year contract.

The Cleveland Browns selected Phillips in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played a big role in the LSU Tigers’ 2019 national championship squad.
Over his four years with the Browns, Phillips suffered numerous injuries, missing the 2023 campaign altogether. In his first season, he played in nine games, which was the most he had ever seen in a season.
For a few years now, Browns and Texans have been at odds.
The Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans have been rivals for the past several seasons. It all began when the Browns acquired Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson two years ago, and it continued when the Browns lost to the Texans in this year’s playoffs.
