Latest Dawg News: Georgia Confirm To Lose Another Super Talented Star To Transfer Portal

For the previous three seasons, the Georgia Bulldogs have been the top college football team. The Bulldogs lost two players to the new spring transfer portal that launched on Monday. Even a school that has won two of the previous three National Championships has lost players to the portal.

Georgia Watches Running Back Andrew Paul Enter The Portal Earlier Today On Monday afternoon, Bulldog offensive player Andrew Paul wasn’t the first one to do so.

Braxton Hicks Goes Through The Door
Braxton Lee Hicks, a wide receiver, posted a heartfelt letter to Georgia and its supporters on the social networking platform X. He also announced his intention to use the transfer portal.

With two years remaining in my eligibility, I am registering as a graduate transfer on the Transfer Portal. Gratitude to UGA and Go Dawgs馃惗馃挴 #GodsPlan pic.twitter.com/e9LthI4Csv
Hicks, a junior who hails from Georgia, hasn’t really seen the field since being on college.

Presumably, Hicks decided to join the gateway after realizing that his playing time would be restricted and waiting to see how spring workouts would proceed.
For SEC players, the Spring Portal Is Not The Same As The Winter Portal
There is a difference between the winter and spring portals in the SEC, and once you reach the spring portal, you cannot play immediately after transferring to a new SEC team. Once the spring portal opens, you are unable to switch between SEC schools; however, you can start playing right away and use the winter portal to transfer to another SEC institution.

Hicks is probably leaving the SEC unless he wants to sit, but since that was never going to happen while wearing a Bulldogs jersey, I’m guessing he goes to a smaller school where he can see the field.
