Breaking News :Ravens In Talk To Sign A Veteran Guard

The Ravens must develop a strong offensive line.
Following an offseason in which three of the team’s 2023 starters have now left, the Baltimore Ravens are among the clubs most likely to spend one of their top picks in the 2024 NFL Draft on an offensive lineman. The Ravens must find a replacement for their in-house choices.

Ben Cleveland, who hasn’t earned a starting position in the previous three seasons, and Andrew Vorhees, who has 0 NFL snaps and a significant injury under his belt, are presently Baltimore’s projected starters at left and right guard, respectively.

Former Minnesota Vikings guard Dalton Risner might be the finest option available if the Ravens want to go with a veteran. He has expressed his dissatisfaction loudly with his lack of success in obtaining a starting guard contract, and the Ravens may have to satisfy his demands in a timely manner if they hope to bring in a significant talent.

Bleacher Report added their voice to the cacophony of those urging the Ravens to look at Risner in case they can’t bring in a playmaker. With the Vikings and Denver Broncos for many years, Risner has proven to be a dependable starter; the Ravens may be the next team to stamp his passport.

Despite not signing with the Vikings until September, Risner overcame incumbents to establish himself as a starter. Risner was once again one of the NFC’s better pass-blocking guards, despite being a dubious run blocker. Risner is an important player because of his resilience in the back pocket.

Although the Ravens might not have a lot of cap room, they will probably need to rearrange some contracts and reallocate funds in order to sign their draft pick class and assemble a strong squad for training camp. With more experience than Cleveland’s and Vorhees’ two total wild cards, Risner is deserving of a slot.

If the Ravens decide to go with an interior lineman with their top draft selection, they may decide not to pursue Risner. Graham Barton of Duke, Jordan Morgan of Arizona, and Jackson Powers-Johnson of Oregon (the latter two specifically identified by Albert Breer as potential possibilities) are all in play at No. 30 overall.

The Ravens ought to call Risner if they don’t get one of those names delivered to Baltimore right away. If Vorhees doesn’t abruptly switch to Randall McDaniel as a pass-blocker, the Ravens will have to search for more experienced opponents.
