Breaking: Just In Texas LonghornConfirm To Loose Another Top Experienced Star To Arizona State Football

Arizona State football has secured a formidable addition to its roster with the acquisition of edge rusher J’Mond Tapp from Texas. Tapp, who spent the last two seasons with the Longhorns, announced his commitment to the Sun Devils via Instagram. His decision follows reported visits to ASU and Louisville the previous week.

Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 255 pounds, Tapp brings significant defensive prowess to Arizona State. In his tenure with Texas, he appeared in seven games last season, tallying eight tackles, including 1.5 for a loss. With three years of eligibility remaining, Tapp’s transfer enhances Arizona State’s defensive capabilities.

Ranked as the No. 23 edge prospect and the No. 295 player in the 247Sports Transfer Rankings, Tapp boasts a strong pedigree as a former consensus four-star recruit and a top player in the 2022 high school class.

Arizona State’s recruitment efforts come amid recent departures from the program, including quarterback Jaden Rashada, wide receiver Elijhah Badger, and cornerbacks Ed Woods and RJ Regan, who all entered the transfer portal. However, the Sun Devils have also bolstered their roster with the addition of Chamon Metayer from the transfer portal. Metayer, who previously spent time with Colorado and Cincinnati, further strengthens Arizona State’s squad for the upcoming season.
