The first-round pick of the Ravens has signed.
The Baltimore Ravens truly came of age in the 2023 NFL season, as star quarterback Lamar Jackson had one of his best seasons ever and took home the NFL MVP trophy twice.
Baltimore was able to consistently outplay its opponents while belonging to what is perhaps the most competitive division in the NFL. This allowed Baltimore to win 13 games, secure the AFC North division title, and guarantee the number one seed in the conference.
Regretfully, the NFL playoffs proved to be an entirely different story for the Ravens, as they ultimately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs, the reigning Super Bowl champions, in the AFC Championship Game.
The team has a possibility to be extremely good for quite some time with the appropriate decisions made, despite the fact that they fell short of expectations in the postseason.
According to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, one of the team’s offseason decisions was to select cornerback Nate Wiggins from Clemson University in the first round. Wiggins has already signed a rookie contract.
Given that the Ravens boast one of the top offenses in the NFL, it made sense for the team to address the defensive end of the ball in the draft, and Wiggins is among the best corners available.
The Ravens already appear to be a strong team on paper, but it remains to be seen if they can build on their regular season success in 2024 and continue it into the postseason.
