Report: Auburn linebacker Cam Riley, a Tiger, transfers to FSU to become a Seminole.
The Florida State Seminoles, led by Mike Norvell, have added another transfer at a critical position.
After making a brief commitment to the NC State Wolfpack, former Auburn Tigers linebacker Cam Riley has decided to move to Tallahassee, according to a report from Noles247. Re-engaging with him, the FSU coaching staff was able to close the deal.
Riley, who weighs 242 pounds and is 6’5″, has one more year of eligibility left. It would be fascinating to see what his playing weight will be at FSU because he bulked up this offseason with the intention of playing EDGE at Auburn.
As a rotating player the previous season, he recorded 32 tackles (17 solo and 3.5 TFL) in 13 games along with 2.5 sacks. Riley has participated in 46 games in his career and totaled 120 tackles (69 solo and 8 TFL), 2.5 sacks, and two pass breakups. Riley has a ton of experience, which is something you can’t teach.
Riley is an Evergreen, Alabama native who is majoring in business. With his background, he should fight for playing time and be expected to be in the FSU rotation as soon as he picks up the playbook.
