Raiders sign Andrus Peat: Three-time Pro Bowler to join offensive line in Las Vegas, according to reports
In the trenches, Antonio Pierce’s club is becoming more formidable.
According to NFL Media, the Las Vegas Raiders have signed former New Orleans Saints left guard/left tackle Andrus Peat, one of the top offensive linemen available following the draft.
Peat, who turned 30 in November, was originally chosen by the Saints in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Stanford with the No. 13 overall choice. In his 111 career games, Peat has started 102 of them. Peat played left guard for the most of his career (4,090 snaps), and he was a three-time Pro Bowl participant from 2018 to 20.
But in 2023, he mostly played left tackle (715 plays), while he has also occasionally played right tackle. Peat received a 60.2 PFF rating the previous year, which allowed for 30 pressures in addition to two sacks.
Though general manager Tom Telesco used two of his first three picks on the offensive line, selecting former Oregon offensive tackle Jackson Powers-Johnson at No. 44 overall and Maryland’s Delmar Glaze at No. 77 overall, the Raiders were unable to select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft. Vegas has now included Peat in the mix. Given that Kolton Miller plays left tackle for the Raiders, Peat may go inside or compete at right tackle.
