In an effort to secure contracts for every member of the 2024 Draft class, the Las Vegas Raiders have been very busy.
Brock Bowers of Georgia was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 13th overall choice in the 2024 NFL Draft, which was somewhat of a surprise. It was rather surprising not because of Bowers’ skill—many people thought he was a top-10 pick—but rather because he was selected by them in the middle of the first round.
You can’t pass on a guy like Bowers in the first round, even though Las Vegas needed to fill other spots. He is the type of explosive tight end who can dominate the middle of the football field and who poses a serious threat when it comes to scoring points in the red zone.
Bowers signed his first NFL contract this week, joining a number of other Raiders 2024 draft selections who will now focus on making an impression in their first NFL training camps.
Bowers signs four-year contract with Raiders
Tight end Brock Bowers has officially signed a four-year, $18.1 million contract with the Raiders after agreeing to terms that are completely guaranteed.
There’s also a $10 million signing bonus and a fifth-year team option. It’s a great sight to have your first-round pick signed and ready for training. Five of the seven players in the 2024 draft class who are still available have already signed contracts.
Prior to camp, deals were finalized with S Trey Taylor, RB Dylan Laube, CB M.J. Devonshire, LB Tommy Eichenberg, and CB Decamerion Richardson. D.J. Glaze and Jackson Powers-Johnson, two more rookies who were drafted but haven’t signed contracts, are offensive tackles.
The Raiders should be encouraged by this, since it seems they have selected a number of players that are prepared to start playing right away in the NFL. Getting signed and entering the facility is the ideal way for all eight of these new Raiders to begin their careers, as they all have a shot to make the team this summer.
