Breaking: Yankees Linked To Star Slugger, Former MVP As Blockbuster Trade Option

Yankees Considered a Blockbuster Trade Option With Star Slugger, the Former MVP
Could the Yankees use this season’s trade deadline to get the great slugger?
Major trade rumors will undoubtedly be rampant until this summer’s deadline finally passes.

On July 30, 2024, Major League Baseball will hold its trade deadline, and some very big names will undoubtedly be moving. One of the best baseball clubs to date in 2024 is the New York Yankees, who are already rumored to be a buyer at the deadline.

Despite its abundance of skill, New York still needs improvement. Paul Goldschmidt, the standout slugger for the St. Louis Cardinals, has already been mentioned as a possible choice by Zack Cook of SportsGrid.

“Even though the Yankees are getting more production from their veterans this season, rumors of a potential move between New York and the Cardinals involving Paul Goldschmidt surfaced last year,” Cook stated. “The Yankees need to put their all into winning a World Series this season because Juan Soto will be available for free agency in 2019.” Goldschmidt’s confidence would greatly benefit from being in New York, despite his well-documented difficulties this season.”

Despite having had a difficult start to the season with St. Louis, Goldschmidt has emerged as one of the game’s top first basemen over the previous fifteen years. The National League 2022 Most Valuable Player, a seven-time All-Star, may bring even more elite depth to the already strong Yankees lineup.

Anthony Rizzo has New York covered at first base, but if Goldschmidt is available for a reasonable price, it could still be wise to acquire him. He might potentially serve as a backup designated hitter.

The Yankees might make a compelling trade partner, and St. Louis appears to be headed toward being sellers once more this season.
