Tyler Baron, a top-10 transfer edge rusher for Miami football, is said to be the leader.
According to Brad Crawford of 247Sports, the Miami football team is the favorite choice for Tyler Baron, a top-10 edge rusher.
Tyler Baron, the 10th best edge rusher in the 2024 portal and the fourth-ranked available transfer, is a product of the Miami football program, according to Brad Crawford of 247Sports. Baron spent last week visiting USC and Miami. Miami has been a constant in Baron’s ever-changing recruitment process.
Miami and Mississippi led the pack for Baron, according to a report published last week by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald. During the winter portal cycle, Baron moved from Tennessee to Louisville. During the winter portal cycle, Baron first pledged to Mississippi before switching to Louisville.
Baron would bolster Miami’s talented trio of edge rushers. In 2024, Miami will have Rueben Bain, the ACC Defensive Rookie of the Year, and Akheem Mesidor at edge rusher. Elijah Alston, a Marshall edge rusher, transferred to Miami in the winter portal cycle. The top defensive line class of 2024 was also signed by Miami.
Baron and Alston would compete for snaps as the third edge rusher in the rotation, after Bain and Mesidor. In the 2024 class, Miami signed three-star Cole McConathy, four-stars Booker Pickett Jr. and Elias Rudolph, and five-star edge rusher Marquise Lightfoot. During spring practice, Lightfoot and McConathy displayed excellent skills.
Baron came into the 2020 class as the 118th prospect overall, the fourth defensive end on the strong side, and the fourth player from Knoxville Catholic in Tennessee. If Baron decides to join the Hurricanes, Miami would have another seasoned edge rusher with one season left to be eligible. Baron’s addition would give the Miami freshman class of 2024 more time to mature.
In 2024, Baron would round out Miami’s veteran edge rusher rotation. Baron’s inclusion would free up additional time to concentrate on other roles following the transfer portal’s April 30 closing to new applicants. Transfer is free to keep stopping by and finishing up their selections for the next competition they will participate in.
