The New Orleans Saints Get DE Chase Young; Move Is Ppraised by Cameron Jordan
On a one-year deal, the New Orleans Saints signed multi-award winning defensive end Chase Young. Veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan, who has played in eight Pro Bowls, thinks the Saints will benefit greatly from this acquisition.
According to the NFL Network, Jordan stated during his appearance on “NFL Total Access” that “I think Chase Young is going to be great for our defense.” Carl Granderson, who has been excellent these past few years, is already here. I believe that when he achieves the proper physical health, he will be on the other side of growth. He will be an additional component that we can add.
He said, “At some point, I’m spinning like, on a crucial third down, it’s going to be me, Chase, and Carl Granderson on the field at the same time, and I’m probably going to have to go in the middle.” It doesn’t concern me. Whatever is necessary. I’ll take a position and move like Za’Darius Smith, attempting to move and become more involved in the middle. It, in my opinion, gives us another line of protection.
In the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Washington Commanders selected Young with the second overall choice. He was dealt to the San Francisco 49ers last season, and the Saints signed him as a free agent. He won the league’s Defensive Rookie of the Year award in 2020. In addition, the Pro Bowl had neck surgery, and it is “expected” that he will be ready for the upcoming NFL campaign.
