During the past two seasons in New Orleans, Valanciunas has started few games but has been a powerful player in the paint who can score and rebound with ease. But the main causes of his declining status in recent years have been his lack of movement and dependable outside game.
However, Valanciunas would undoubtedly be the best solution to Philly’s issue of lacking a reliable Embiid backup. Better yet, he has the talent and experience to take the field in the event that the 2023 MVP is sidelined by an injury or problems managing his workload. Additionally, his presence on the squad might encourage them to limit Embiid’s playing time.
The primary center position target for the Philadelphia 76ers should be Jonas Valanciunas, provided the price isn’t so high as to interfere with their intentions for free agency. He just makes too much sense to be written off as a mere hypothetical from the recent past.
