### Former South Alabama Linebacker Khalil Jacobs Transfers to Missouri

Former South Alabama linebacker Khalil Jacobs has announced his transfer to the University of Missouri. Jacobs will reunite in Columbia with former Jaguars defensive coordinator Corey Batoon, who joined the Tigers’ program in January. Jacobs, originally from Niceville, Florida, also considered Alabama, Auburn, and Ole Miss during his transfer process.

Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 218 pounds, Jacobs had an impactful sophomore season in 2023. He recorded 56 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, and three forced fumbles in a part-time role. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Jacobs initially entered the transfer portal after South Alabama head coach Kane Wommack left for Alabama in January but returned to the Jaguars shortly after. Following spring practice, Jacobs re-entered the transfer portal and ultimately chose Missouri.

Jacobs is the third South Alabama player to announce his new team for the 2024 season following spring practice. Safety Keith Gallmon is transferring to Austin Peay, and fellow safety Tremel States-Jones has committed to Rhode Island.

South Alabama has seen a total of five players transfer to power-conference programs from its 2023 roster. In addition to Jacobs, these players include wide receiver Caullin Lacy (Louisville), safety Yam Banks (Ole Miss), cornerback Marquise Robinson (Arkansas), and long-snapper Travis Drosos (UCLA).

The Jaguars, who finished the 2023 season with a 7-6 record and a win in the 68 Ventures Bowl, will kick off their 2024 season at home against North Texas on August 31.
