Breaking: LSU 4-Star RB Recruiting target Confirm To Announce Commitment Later This Month

### LSU Running Back Target to Announce Commitment Soon

LSU’s primary running back target, James Simon, is set to announce his college commitment later this month. Head coach Brian Kelly has been focused on securing top talent from Louisiana, and Simon, a highly regarded running back, could be a key addition to the Tigers’ roster.

**Recruiting Efforts and Current Pledges**

Despite already securing two running back commitments for the 2025 class—Harlem Berry and JT Lindsey, both talented Louisiana players—LSU remains interested in adding Simon to their lineup. Simon, a 5-foot-11, 190-pound running back from Shreveport, LA, is considering LSU among his top choices, which include Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas, and Texas A&M.

**Player Rankings and Commitment Likelihood**

Ranked No. 8 at his position and No. 115 nationally by On3, Simon’s current favorite appears to be Texas, especially since he has an official visit scheduled with the Longhorns in June. However, LSU and Texas A&M are still in contention. The Tigers’ existing commitments might make Baton Rouge a less likely destination for Simon, but the possibility remains.

**Future of LSU’s Running Back Room**

Regardless of Simon’s decision, LSU’s running back depth is strong. The Tigers have secured three highly-rated running backs over the past two recruiting cycles: 2024 signee Caden Durham and 2025 commits Harlem Berry and JT Lindsey, all rated four stars or higher. Additionally, Kaleb Jackson, a four-star recruit from the 2023 class, has shown significant improvement and potential.

If Simon chooses LSU, he would enhance an already promising running back group, poised to make an impact during the 2025 season.
