Official Vikings Report: Minnesota Vikings Confirm Another Two Stars To Release Before The Season

### Insider Suggests Vikings Could Cut Lewis Cine and Andrew Booth Jr.

The Minnesota Vikings have had an eventful offseason, parting ways with key players including quarterback Kirk Cousins and pass rushers Danielle Hunter and D.J. Wonnum. As the team undergoes a significant roster overhaul, an insider has hinted at two more potential and surprising cuts that could further alter the defense.

Andrew Krammer of The Star Tribune reported that safety Lewis Cine and cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. might be at risk of being cut before the season begins. Krammer noted that insiders have mentioned the “light bulb” not going on for both players, implying they have struggled to grasp the system and concepts necessary for success.

Krammer elaborated, “The phrase that I’ve heard behind the scenes is the light bulb not going on with [Lewis Cine and Andrew Booth Jr.] specifically. So how do you interpret that when you’re not sitting in the room next to them as they’re studying these things? So yeah, the light bulb is just not going on, and it didn’t go on last year.”

Lewis Cine, the 32nd overall pick in the 2022 draft out of Georgia, had a minimal impact last season, recording only one tackle in seven games after not playing in 2022. Andrew Booth Jr., a second-round pick from Clemson in the same draft, appeared in all 17 games last season, tallying eight tackles and a pass deflection.

Currently, both players are buried deep on the Vikings’ depth chart. If they do not show significant improvement soon, their tenure with the team might be cut short, marking the 2022 draft’s top selections as a potential misstep for Minnesota.
