Official Auburn News: Auburn Tigers Confirm To Commit Another Top Star

Auburn basketball has secured the commitment of Georgia Tech transfer guard Miles Kelly, effectively concluding their search for a key guard addition, according to On3Sports’ Joe Tipton. Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl had emphasized the need for “one more impactful guard” during a media availability on May 20.

Kelly comes to Auburn after an impressive junior season at Georgia Tech, where he averaged 13.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, leading the Yellow Jackets in scoring. He shot 36.9% from the field and 32.1% from three-point range. Notably, Kelly had eight games with over 20 points, including a standout 36-point performance against Louisville.

In the previous season (2022-23), Kelly was slightly more efficient, averaging 14.4 points per game with a shooting percentage of 41% from the field and 37.9% from beyond the arc. Coming out of high school, Kelly was a highly-rated 4-star prospect, ranked as the third-best prospect in Virginia by 247Sports in the class of 2021. He had offers from several notable programs, including Miami, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, and Texas A&M.

With Kelly’s addition, Auburn has reshaped its guard roster, addressing the departures of Aden Holloway, Tre Donaldson, K.D. Johnson, and Lior Berman. Pearl highlighted the new additions of JP Pegues, Tahaad Pettiford, Jahki Howard, and now, Miles Kelly. This completes Auburn’s guard lineup for the upcoming season.
