**Vols Add Transfer Ian Cruz for 2024-25**

Head Coach Chris Woodruff announced Tuesday that Ian Cruz has signed with the Tennessee men’s tennis team and will join the Vols for the 2024-25 season.

Cruz is the third transfer to join UT for the upcoming year. He previously played three seasons at Belmont, where he achieved a 64-23 singles record and a 34-19 doubles record. In 2024, the junior excelled with a 16-3 dual match record at No.

2 singles, maintaining a perfect 17-0 mark in conference play. In doubles, Cruz remained undefeated (8-0) with partner Alfred Wallin at the No. 2 and 3 spots.

“Ian is an extremely competitive individual,” said Tennessee associate head coach James McKie. “Our great fans will love his fight and toughness on the court. He is coming to us from a really great program in Belmont, and we are looking forward to helping him reach his goals in his last year of college tennis.” Cruz, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, holds a UTR of 12.64.
