Offcial ESPN Report: Just In New Orleans Saints Confirm To Relaese Top Veteran Just After One Season At Saint

Saints Projected to Release Linebacker After Just One Season**

New Orleans Saints linebacker D’Marco Jackson, who played sparingly as a rookie, might be cut after only one season. The Saints boast one of the NFL’s strongest linebacker corps, which could lead to the second-year player’s release. Jackson, a fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft from Appalachian State, missed his rookie season due to injury but remained healthy in 2023. He appeared in all 17 games, recording 12 tackles and returning a fumble for a touchdown.

Despite his participation, Jackson’s modest performance might not be enough to secure his place on the team.

Bleacher Report recently highlighted potential roster cuts, listing Jackson as a likely candidate for the Saints.

Jackson faces tough competition with established players like Demario Davis and former first-round pick Pete Werner, along with new addition Willie Gay, who signed a substantial free-agent contract. With limited roster spots available, Jackson may be the odd man out.

Although his time with the Saints might be ending, Jackson’s career isn’t necessarily over. Many teams are in need of linebackers, so he could find a new opportunity elsewhere.
