Official Titans News: Just In Tennessee Titans Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Star

WR Tyler Boyd Quickly Integrates with Tennessee Titans**

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tyler Boyd, newly signed by the Tennessee Titans on May 13, swiftly joined his teammates on the field, wasting no time in getting to work.

Boyd, who previously played for the Cincinnati Bengals since being drafted in 2016, acknowledged the odd feeling of donning a different uniform but was eager to start fresh with familiar faces, like cornerback Chidobe Awuzie. Awuzie, also a former Bengal, joined the Titans in March.

Boyd’s decision to join Tennessee was largely influenced by his familiarity with new Titans coach Brian Callahan, with whom he spent five seasons in Cincinnati.

“Callahan is my guy,” Boyd said. “He’s a fantastic coach, and having been part of his offense, it just felt like a good fit here.”

Known for his productivity as a slot receiver, Boyd leads the league in receptions, receiving yards, and first downs from the slot since 2016, according to Next Gen Stats. This makes him a valuable asset for Callahan, who was seeking a reliable slot receiver.

Callahan praised Boyd’s advantage in understanding the offense, noting his extensive experience with the system’s names, expectations, and routes.

Boyd is expected to play a crucial role in supporting second-year quarterback Will Levis, much like he did with Joe Burrow in Cincinnati. Boyd’s experience and knowledge of the offense will be beneficial for Levis, who expressed excitement about learning from the veteran receiver.

Boyd’s addition marks a significant upgrade for the Titans’ wide receiver group, joining fellow newcomers Calvin Ridley and last season’s leading receiver DeAndre Hopkins. Boyd is enthusiastic about the potential of the receiving corps and looks forward to learning and competing with his new teammates.

Hopkins echoed Boyd’s sentiments, emphasizing the competitive spirit that will drive the team to improve.

Coach Callahan now has the task of melding this talented group into a potent offense, aiming to surpass the team’s previous struggles of averaging less than 18 points per game over the last two seasons.
