LSU football is making waves in recruiting blue-chip wide receiver Derek Meadows for the class of 2025. Under Coach Brian Kelly, LSU continues to attract top pass-catching talent, earning a spot in Meadows’ top-five schools. Known as “WRU,” LSU has a reputation for producing first-round wide receivers like Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr.
Despite losing five-star recruit Dakorien Moore earlier this month, Coach Kelly’s efforts in recruiting elite wide receivers remain strong. LSU’s current targets include Jaime Ffrench, Kaliq Lockett, CJ Wiley, and Derek Meadows.
Meadows, a five-star recruit ranked No. 32 nationally and No. 6 at his position by 247Sports, stands at 6-foot-5 and weighs 200 pounds. Alongside LSU, Meadows is considering Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, and Notre Dame.
Although Notre Dame is the favorite for Meadows’ commitment, his scheduled official visits include Georgia on June 7, Notre Dame on June 14, LSU on June 18, Alabama on June 21, and Michigan today. Currently, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked No. 2 nationally and No. 1 in the conference with 11 commitments. If Meadows commits, he will join an impressive group of pass-catchers, including four-star wide receiver TaRon Francis and tight end JD LaFleur.
