Auburn Football Nearing Commitment from 4-Star Cornerback Blake Woodby**
Auburn football is on the rise in its pursuit of Blake Woodby, a highly-rated 4-star cornerback and former Ohio State commit. Woodby originally pledged to Ohio State in October 2023 but rescinded his commitment on May 16, 2024, the same day Auburn extended an offer.
Despite his commitment to Ohio State, Woodby maintained open communication with other programs, including Auburn, Michigan, and Florida. Shortly after decommitting, he scheduled an official visit to Auburn, becoming a high-priority recruit for the Tigers. This visit is set for the upcoming weekend.
Steve Wiltfong, Vice President of Recruiting for On3 Sports, predicted Woodby would choose Auburn. Wiltfong mentioned there is significant optimism from sources within Auburn ahead of Woodby’s visit. Additionally, two national recruiting analysts from 247 Sports also forecasted Woodby’s commitment to Auburn.
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Woodby is ranked as the #2 prospect in his state and the #8 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class, placing him 74th overall in the Top 100 recruits.
This weekend is pivotal for Auburn’s recruiting efforts under head coach Hugh Freeze. Along with Woodby, other top recruits visiting include 5-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham, 4-star offensive lineman Broderick Shull, 4-star linebacker Elijah Menendez (a Miami commit), 4-star defensive lineman Kalen Edwards, and 4-star tight end Emaree Winston (a Texas commit).
