Breaking: Los Angeles Rams Confirm In Talk To Sign Top Experienced DE Free Agent

**Yannick Ngakoue: Top Free Agent Edge Rusher Could Sign Soon**

With June here, the free agent market might heat up for players like Yannick Ngakoue. Teams that designated players with a post-June 1st release will gain additional cap space, often leading to a flurry of late-season signings. Ngakoue, likely the best pass rusher still available, could be in demand if fully recovered from his broken ankle. Last season, he started and played in 13 games for the Chicago Bears, recording four sacks, 22 tackles, six tackles-for-loss, and seven quarterback hits.

While Ngakoue isn’t the dominant player he once was, he remains valuable in a situational role. Head coach Matt Eberflus praised him for being a great teammate and positive influence in the locker room. Bleacher Report suggests the Los Angeles Rams should consider signing him.

Teaming Ngakoue with Verse, Fiske, Turner, and Byron Young could bolster a Rams pass rush that had 41 sacks last season. Adding Ngakoue to the rotation could enhance their defensive efforts, provided he is fully recovered from his injury.

**Rams Interested in Free Agent Yannick Ngakoue**

Though not the most versatile player, Ngakoue can still impact as a situational pass rusher. Entering his age-29 season, the former “Sacksonville” defender could be a good fit for the Rams, who finished the 2023 season with the second-fewest sacks (41) in the league. With Aaron Donald retiring, the Rams need to find ways to pressure the quarterback, and a deep rotation of edge defenders, including Ngakoue, could help.

The Rams won’t be the only team interested in Ngakoue. Effective pass rushers are highly sought after in the NFL, and Ngakoue, just a year removed from a 9.5-sack season, will attract attention if he’s healthy. Several teams are expected to pursue him.
