Good News: Just In LSU Tigers Confirm Signing Of Another Top Experienced Star

**LSU Baseball Discovers a Star in Freshman Infielder Steven Milam**

Steven Milam, a freshman infielder for LSU baseball, has delivered outstanding performances throughout much of the 2024 college baseball season. However, his recent displays have truly set him apart, making it evident that coach Jay Johnson has a budding star on his hands.

“Steven [Milam] had another clutch performance. Those two home runs were impressive, but his four quality at-bats today were crucial,” said coach Jay Johnson after LSU’s 2024 NCAA Tournament victory over Wofford. The game looked bleak for LSU as they trailed 2-0 entering the bottom of the 7th inning. However, Milam’s solo shot sparked a momentum shift.

Following Milam’s home run, LSU hit three more, including a walk-off homer by Milam himself—his third in as many games. Notably, Milam hit these home runs from both sides of the plate, demonstrating his switch-hitting prowess and securing a 4-3 victory for LSU.

Reflecting on this achievement, Milam, from Las Cruces, NM, laughed and shared, “In high school I did, but not in college. I didn’t plan it, but it happened, and it’s exciting to help our team win.”

Milam’s postseason performance has been stellar, with 12 hits, nine RBIs, four home runs, and two walk-off hits since the start of the 2024 SEC Tournament. This surge has doubled his season home run total, coming at the perfect time for LSU’s run towards Omaha and the College Baseball World Series.

“He’s no longer a freshman,” coach Johnson remarked. “After the experiences we’ve had and the teams we’ve faced, we’ve seen it all. This builds confidence, and with 41 wins this year, they just needed to believe in themselves. Steven reminded us to slow down and stick to our plan, and they did.”

Although today’s victory was thrilling, the season is far from over for Milam and LSU. They must maintain focus and fight for every win as their 2024 season hangs in the balance.

The Tigers’ next game is scheduled for Saturday, June 1, at 4:00 p.m. CST against the winner of Long Island (33-23) vs. No. 4 North Carolina (42-13). The game will take place at Bryson Field at Boshamer Stadium in Chapel Hill, NC, and will be available to watch live on ESPN+.
