Official Cleveland News: Cleveland Browns Confirm Two Free Agents They Are Now Willing To Sign

**Two Potential Free Agent Cornerbacks for the Browns to Consider This Offseason**

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Browns might consider targeting some experienced cornerbacks from the free agent market, which still offers a number of solid options.

Two notable veterans available are Stephon Gilmore and Steven Nelson.

Gilmore boasts an impressive resume. During his time with New England, he won a Super Bowl in the 2018 season and led the league in passes defended (20) and interceptions (six) in 2019, earning NFL Defensive Player of the Year honors.

At 33, he last played for Dallas, where he set a personal best with 68 tackles and had 13 passes defended. According to Pro Football Focus, Gilmore ranked 37th in overall defensive grading (71.2) and 16th in tackling (76.2) among qualifying cornerbacks.

Nelson, aged 31, has also maintained strong performance levels throughout his career. He played for Houston in the past two seasons, delivering a standout 2023 season with 63 tackles, 12 passes defended, and four interceptions. Notably, he had a crucial pick-six against the Browns in the divisional round of the playoffs.
