ESPN Report: Minnesota Vikings Confirm To Reach Agreement With Another Top Star

**Vikings Star Justin Jefferson Signs Record $140 Million Extension**

Justin Jefferson has set a new NFL record by signing a four-year, $140 million contract extension with the Minnesota Vikings, making him the highest-paid wide receiver in league history. This deal, which equates to nearly £109 million, ends speculation about his future.

The 2022 Offensive Player of the Year, previously on the final year of his rookie contract, strategically waited to sign a new deal, resulting in a massive payoff. Drafted 22nd overall in 2020, the 24-year-old secured his long-term future with this extension, which includes an annual salary of almost £30 million ($35 million) and £86 million ($110 million) in guaranteed money.

This contract makes Jefferson the highest-paid receiver, surpassing Amon-Ra St. Brown’s £94 million ($120 million) deal with the Detroit Lions and matching the total value of Davante Adams’ contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, although Adams’ deal spans five years.

Jefferson expressed his excitement on social media, reflecting on his journey and thanking those who supported him: “The time has come. The deal I was waiting for ever since I was a little kid. [I have] been doubted my whole career, not being highly recruited, not being the first receiver off the draft board. This whole journey wasn’t easy for me.” He also thanked God, his family, and the Vikings organization for the opportunity.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell praised Jefferson, stating, “Justin is an exceptionally talented player and an incredible person that I am honored to coach and have as a team captain. His positive energy and love for the game show up every single day as he works to be the best at his craft.”

A graduate of LSU, Jefferson has surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of his four NFL seasons. In 2022, he led the league with 128 receptions for 1,809 yards. Despite a hamstring injury in 2023, he still amassed 1,074 yards and five touchdowns in just nine starts, reinforcing his status as one of the NFL’s top playmakers.
