LSU baseball’s sophomore right-handed pitcher Micah Bucknam announced on Tuesday that he is entering the transfer portal, just a day after the Tigers’ season concluded in the Chapel Hill Regional.
North Carolina (45-14) came back to defeat LSU 4-3 in extra innings on Monday night, advancing the Tar Heels to the super regional and ending LSU’s season with a 43-23 record.
During this season, Bucknam pitched in eight games out of the bullpen, recording a 7.00 ERA with 10 strikeouts and three walks over nine innings. He allowed seven earned runs on 12 hits.
Bucknam announced his decision to leave LSU in a post on X, expressing gratitude for his time with the team over the past two seasons.
“Thankful and Blessed. The Lord is at work,” he wrote.
