The Tigers will play the fifth-toughest schedule this autumn, and an Auburn wide receiver is among the top transfer commits in college football, according to today’s Auburn Tigers News.
The Auburn football team strengthened numerous position groups that were in dire need of more skill throughout the offseason by adding a strong group of players, particularly in the wide receiver and offensive line departments.
Cody Nagel of 247 Sports published his analysis of the top 15 transfer portal commits; moves that were still in the portal were not taken into account for this ranking. During the spring transfer window, the Tigers acquired former Penn State wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith, who was ranked No. 7, one of college football’s top transfers.
“The 6-foot-1, 188-pound receiver had his most-productive season with the Nittany Lions in 2023, hauling in a team-high 53 receptions for 673 yards and four touchdowns,” Nagel stated. “He racked up more than 1,700 yards in 48 games played at Penn State.”
Among the transfers on Nagel’s list, the most were acquired by Alabama, Florida, and Miami.
This autumn, the Tigers’ schedule is the fifth toughest.
The Auburn football team will face challenges in autumn, as usual. Every year, the Tigers are rated highest in terms of schedule difficulty, and the 2024 campaign will be no exception.
Things have changed a little with the addition of Oklahoma and Texas to the conference and the elimination of the East and West divisions, but ESPN’s FPI ranks the Tigers’ schedule as the sixth hardest this year. According to Auburn Undercover, the top 10 list is shown below, with Georgia Tech ranking ninth and being the only non-SEC team.
