**Celtics Injury Report: Kristaps Porzingis Cleared for Game 1 vs. Mavericks**
BOSTON — The Celtics are starting the NBA Finals against the Mavericks at full strength. No players are listed on the injury report for Game 1, scheduled for 8:30 p.m. Thursday at TD Garden.
Kristaps Porzingis, who was expected to return from his strained right calf, is set to play. He last appeared in a game on April 29, after getting injured in Game 4 of the first round against the Heat. Porzingis confirmed his readiness at media day on Wednesday.
“It’s tough to say how I’ll feel,” Porzingis commented. “I haven’t played in a while. Tomorrow will be my first real minutes in some time. I’ve prepared as much as possible, but nothing compares to actual game experience. It will be challenging to jump into the Finals like this, but I’m as ready as I can be.”
Porzingis’ return is a significant boost for the Celtics, enhancing both their offense and defense. His post-up play and rim protection were vital during the season. Despite his absence, the Celtics performed well in the East playoffs, achieving a 12-2 record through the first three rounds.
The Mavericks, having emerged from the West Finals, will be a formidable opponent. While the Celtics are favored, they must secure four wins to clinch the championship.
