Breaking: Just In Another Top Experienced Fans Favorite Vikings Star Confirm He Wants To Leave

Cleveland Browns Sign Former Ohio State OL Wyatt Davis

After a standout four-year career at Ohio State, Wyatt Davis’s NFL journey has been challenging. Drafted in the third round by the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, Davis has appeared in only nine professional games with four different teams, facing numerous injuries along the way.

Hoping for a fresh start in 2024, Davis has been signed by the Cleveland Browns, who announced the move on Friday. To make room for Davis, the Browns waived defensive tackle Jayden Peevy.

In his rookie year, Davis played six games on special teams after failing to secure the starting right guard position during training camp. He competed for the spot again in 2022 but was waived by the Vikings during final cuts. That season, Davis spent time with the New York Giants’ practice squad, the New Orleans Saints, and the Arizona Cardinals before rejoining the Giants late in the year. He was subsequently waived and placed on injured reserve by New York before the last season.

Davis, originally from St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower, California, was a highly-touted five-star prospect in the 2017 recruiting class, ranked as the top offensive guard and a top-25 player nationwide by 247Sports Composite. Despite many scholarship offers, he chose to commit to Ohi

o State.

He redshirted his first year in 2017. As a redshirt freshman in 2018, Davis served as a backup at right guard but was called into action late in the season, making his first two starts in the Big Ten Championship Game and the Rose Bowl. He excelled in both games, setting the stage for his subsequent seasons.

In 2019, Davis became one of the nation’s top interior linemen, contributing to an offense that ranked third in scoring and fourth in total offense. His performance earned him first-team All-American honors from multiple outlets and second-team All-American from the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Initially opting out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Davis returned when the Big Ten resumed play. He had another productive year, standing out as Ohio State’s most consistent lineman and leading a young group when three starting linemen were sidelined due to COVID-19 protocols against Michigan State.
