Good New: Just In Former Top Alabama Star Return To Bama

On Friday, the Alabama Crimson Tide baseball team received the best possible news. Justin LeBron, the All-Star shortstop, confirmed on Instagram that he will be back for his sophomore season. During his first year of college, LeBron was selected SEC Freshman of the Year, All-SEC Shortstop, and All Defensive team.

If LeBron had used the transfer portal, every team in the nation would have been pursuing him given his incredible rookie campaign and potential. For both Tide coaches and supporters, LeBron’s choice was welcome.

With 56 starts at shortstop and one in centerfield, the slick operator from Miramar, Florida started all 57 Bama games in 2024. During the team’s bout of stomach poisoning during the Mississippi State series, the centerfield position was forced upon them. LeBron hit.338 with nine doubles, 12 home runs, 50 runs, 16 stolen bases in seven tries, and 37 RBI. LeBron also had the most assists in the SEC with 142. LeBron scored.342 in SEC play alone, ranking 11th in the conference. LeBron won SEC Player of the Week on April 29th after racking up 10 hits, including three home runs, in four games.
LeBron has already been touted as the eighth pick in the 2026 MLB Draft and is expected to be a preseason All-American selection for the 2025 season. Joe Vitiello, selected seventh overall by the KC Royals in the 1991 draft, holds the record for the highest selection ever made by an Alabama player. LeBron has the opportunity to surpass the 35-year record in two more years, just like he did in his first. Rise and shine, Bronny!
