Official Bama News: Just In Another Top Talented WR Decommits From Alabama Football

**Top 2024 Receiver Decommits from Alabama**

Five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams has decided to withdraw his commitment to the Crimson Tide. This decision follows the announcement of Nick Saban’s retirement, which is expected to lead to significant roster changes for Alabama football both in the current team and future recruiting classes.

Williams, a standout from Saraland, has been a prominent commit to Alabama since October 2022 but never officially signed with them during the early signing period in December.

He pointed to the departures of Saban and former Alabama wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins as key reasons for his decision, according to a report by On3.

Throughout his commitment to Alabama, Williams remained a prime target for Auburn. He is highly acclaimed, being named Gatorade Player of the Year and Mr. Football for the state of Alabama. Williams, who reclassified from the 2025 class, plans to sign on his birthday, February 9.

During the last season, he recorded 72 receptions for 1,324 yards and 19 touchdowns, along with 30 carries for 261 yards and seven touchdowns, leading his team to the Class 6A runner-up position.

Re-recruiting Williams will be a top priority for Alabama’s new coach, especially as he is now seriously considering a major rival, the Auburn Tigers.
