**Ex-Yankees Pitching Prospect to Make MLB Debut with Struggling Team**
The Chicago White Sox plan to call up right-hander Drew Thorpe to the majors on Tuesday, as announced by manager Pedro Grifol via James Fegan of SoxMachine.
Thorpe is set to make his MLB debut against the Seattle Mariners.
Thorpe joined the White Sox in March as part of the trade that sent Dylan Cease to the Padres, following his move from the Yankees to the Padres in the Juan Soto trade in December.
Originally selected by the Yankees in the second round of the 2022 MLB Draft (61st overall), Thorpe split his 2023 season between the High-A Hudson Valley Renegades and Double-A Somerset Patriots. He recorded a 2.52 ERA with 182 strikeouts over 139 ⅓ innings, making 18 starts at High-A before moving up to Double-A for five more starts.
Ranked as the No. 54 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline, Thorpe has impressed with a 1.35 ERA and 56 strikeouts over 60 innings in 11 starts for Double-A Birmingham.
