ESPN Sad News: Just In Toronto Raptors Confirm The Departure Of Another Top Experienced Star

**Two More Charged in Betting Scandal Involving Raptors’ Jontay Porter**

Two additional individuals were charged Thursday in a sports betting scandal that led to the lifetime ban of former Toronto Raptors player Jontay Porter by the NBA.

Timothy McCormack and Mahmud Mollah now face federal wire fraud charges, joining Long Phi Pham and a fourth man, whose identity remains undisclosed in court documents. The case revolves around allegations that the defendants placed bets based on insider information from a player about his intentions to leave games early.

While prosecutors have not officially named Porter in the case, details in the court documents align with Porter’s situation and his April ban from the NBA. Brooklyn federal prosecutors have not confirmed if Porter himself is under investigation.

Attempts to contact Porter or his representatives have been unsuccessful.

The NBA’s investigation revealed that Porter provided bettors with tips regarding his health and subsequently faked an illness to exit at least one game, aiding in the success of certain wagers. Additionally, Porter bet on NBA games in which he did not participate, including betting against his own team.
