**Former Cleveland Browns OT Geron Christian Joins Tennessee Titans**
Geron Christian, previously an offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns, has signed a free agent contract with the Tennessee Titans. Christian, who started the last nine games of the 2023 season for the Browns, reunites with offensive line coach Bill Callahan. Callahan, who was with the Browns when Christian was signed mid-season, also coached him during his tenure with the Washington Commanders, who drafted Christian in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Christian was brought to the Browns during an emergency at offensive tackle. Following season-ending injuries to Jack Conklin in week one and Jedrick Wills in week eight, the Browns shuffled their lineup, with Christian eventually starting at left tackle. His first start was a crucial divisional game against the Baltimore Ravens, where the Browns secured a 33-31 victory, a pivotal moment in their season. However, the team faced further setbacks, including Deshaun Watson’s shoulder injury, which sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Despite the challenges, Christian and James Hudson III protected rookie quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson in a 13-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, where DTR led a game-winning drive. Christian continued to protect Joe Flacco for the rest of the season, contributing to the Browns’ 11-6 record and playoff berth. However, their weaknesses were exposed in the wildcard game against the Houston Texans, leading to an early exit.
Christian’s familiarity with Callahan likely influenced his signing with the Titans. This marks the second former Browns lineman to join the Titans, following a trade that sent offensive tackle Leroy Watson IV to Tennessee in exchange for a draft pick, which the Browns used to select cornerback Myles Harden from South Dakota.
