Done Deal: Josh Heupel Confirm The Signing Another Highly Rated Talented Star To Bolster Squad

Four-Star Edge Rusher Jayden Loftin Commits to Tennessee

Tennessee bolstered its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of four-star edge rusher Jayden Loftin on Wednesday morning. The New Jersey native decided not to wait for his other scheduled official visits before committing.

Loftin, a 6’4″, 250-pound pass rusher from Somerville, New Jersey, is ranked 344th overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is the 12th best player in New Jersey and the 27th best edge prospect in the 2025 class.

Loftin chose Tennessee over offers from Syracuse, Wisconsin, Boston College, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina, and others. He had official visits lined up for Nebraska, Penn State, and Syracuse in the coming days but decided to commit to Tennessee after his official visit to Knoxville this past weekend. His time with coaches Rodney Garner and Mike Ekeler solidified his decision.

Already at 250 pounds, there is a possibility that Loftin could transition to a strongside defensive end role when he arrives on campus next year.

Loftin joins a 2025 class that includes top 150 overall defensive line prospect Ethan Utley, who committed in the spring. With Loftin’s addition, Tennessee’s 2025 recruiting class now has 11 commits and ranks 19th in the country.
