Auburn Tigers News: Bryce Deas Commits to AU, 4-Star RB Sees Culture Fit on the Plains
In the latest Auburn Tigers News, the football program has secured another 2025 commit, and a 4-star running back finds a cultural fit with the team.
Bryce Deas, a 4-star linebacker, committed to Auburn after being inspired by his close friend and teammate Blake Woodby’s positive official visit experience. Deas visited Auburn for a private workout and camp over the weekend. After spending two days on the Plains and working closely with defensive coordinator DJ Durkin, Deas received an offer and committed to the Tigers on Tuesday.
Deas emphasized the coaching staff’s dedication to player improvement, stating, “You can tell that they want to make you better. They touch on every point and everything I messed up on and have a coaching point on it. Just me being able to be coachable, that’s going to be good for both me and Coach Durkin,” according to Auburn Undercover.
Ranked as the #16 recruit from Maryland and the #66 linebacker for the 2025 class, Deas is being recruited by Auburn as a ‘defensive athlete’ capable of playing multiple positions.
In addition to Deas’ commitment, 4-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight visited Auburn over the weekend. Mills-Knight has become a priority target for the Tigers, particularly for running backs coach Derrick Nix and head coach Hugh Freeze. Mills-Knight noted his strong relationship with Freeze, who believes he would be a great fit for Auburn’s culture.
“It was really real, he’s one of the more down-to-earth coaches, he’s really transparent,” Mills-Knight told Auburn Rivals. “He was telling me he needs me here. He wants me, he likes the person I am and I fit the culture.”
Mills-Knight, ranked as the #33 running back in the 2025 class, has previously visited Alabama, Miami, and Michigan. He has upcoming visits to Ole Miss and Tennessee and aims to make his final decision before starting his senior year.
