Eagles’ 3 Best Trade Targets to Round Out 2024 Roster
The Philadelphia Eagles have high expectations for 2024, boasting a star-studded roster meticulously assembled by general manager Howie Roseman. Despite their talent, the Eagles faltered last season, starting strong with a 10-1 record before collapsing and losing 1-7 from Week 13 onward, culminating in a blowout loss to the Buccaneers in the Wild Card round. To solidify their status as NFC contenders, the Eagles could benefit from additional reinforcements. Here are three trade targets they should consider:
1. **Brevin Jordan – TE – Houston Texans**
Brevin Jordan, a tight end drafted by the Houston Texans in the fifth round of 2021, has shown promise despite modest stats. His potential has been hampered by playing for a struggling Texans team, although he found some stability with CJ Stroud last year, despite Stroud favoring Dalton Schultz at tight end.
Jordan is in the final year of his rookie contract and would likely come at a reasonable price. With the Texans securing Schultz and drafting Cade Stover, Jordan might be expendable. For the Eagles, acquiring Jordan would provide valuable depth behind Dallas Goedert, who has questionable backups in C.J. Uzomah, Grant Calcaterra, and Albert Okwuegbunam Jr. Jordan’s addition could enable more two-tight end formations, a strategic option Philadelphia has historically favored.
2. **Dillon Radunz – T – Tennessee Titans**
With Lane Johnson aging and his availability beyond 2024 uncertain, the Eagles need a reliable backup with potential upside at right tackle. Dillon Radunz could be an ideal candidate. Although expected to start at right tackle for the Titans, Radunz might be available for the right price, especially since new Titans coach Brian Callahan did not draft him.
Radunz, in the final year of his rookie contract, excelled at right tackle in 2023, particularly in run blocking—a key asset for the Eagles. If a trade can be negotiated, Radunz would be an excellent insurance policy for Lane Johnson and a strong addition to Philadelphia’s offensive line depth.
3. **Chad Muma – LB – Jacksonville Jaguars**
Philadelphia has a pressing need for additional inside linebacker depth. The Eagles’ current starters, Devin White and Nakobe Dean, are backed up by fifth-round rookie Jeremiah Trotter Jr. and Oren Burks. While this looks acceptable on paper, it’s vulnerable to injuries and inconsistency, especially considering White has yet to fully meet his high draft expectations.
Chad Muma, a third-round pick by the Jaguars in 2022, offers promising depth. After a solid rookie season, Muma was overshadowed by Foyesade Oluokun and Devin Lloyd. With two years left on his rookie contract, Muma would be a valuable addition to the Eagles, providing a talented reserve at a critical position.
Acquiring these players would address key depth concerns and enhance the Eagles’ chances of realizing their 2024 ambitions.
