Four-Star Edge Rusher Jayden Loftin Commits to Tennessee
Tennessee bolstered its 2025 recruiting class on Wednesday with the commitment of four-star edge rusher Jayden Loftin. The New Jersey native, who stands 6-4 and weighs 250 pounds, ranks 344th overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings. He is the 12th best player in New Jersey and the 27th best edge prospect in the 2025 class.
Recruitment Details
Loftin chose Tennessee over offers from Syracuse, Wisconsin, Boston College, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina, and others. Despite having official visits scheduled to Nebraska, Penn State, and Syracuse, Loftin decided to commit to the Volunteers after his visit to Knoxville this past weekend. His time with coaches Rodney Garner and Mike Ekeler influenced his decision.
Future Potential
At 250 pounds, Loftin may transition to a strongside defensive end role once he arrives on campus. He joins a 2025 class that includes top 150 overall defensive line prospect Ethan Utley, who committed earlier in the spring. With Loftin’s commitment, Tennessee’s 2025 class now includes 11 recruits and ranks 19th nationally.
