4-Star Cornerback Caleb Chester Commits to Texas

The Texas Longhorns have added another standout player to their 2025 recruiting class, continuing their rapid rise in the cycle.

On Tuesday, four-star cornerback Caleb Chester from Fort Bend Marshall in Missouri City, TX, committed to Texas. Chester’s decision follows his recent official visit to Austin over the weekend. He chose Texas over offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, and Florida State, among others.

Chester highlighted his relationship with Texas defensive backs coach Terry Joseph as a key factor in his decision. “Coach Joseph, I like him a lot,” Chester told 247Sports. “He’s a real standup guy, and I talk to him frequently about sports, life, family, just everything. I have a really good relationship with him.”

Ranked as the No. 599 player nationally, No. 61 cornerback, and No. 93 player in Texas according to the On3 Industry Ranking, Chester is the first defensive back to commit to the Longhorns in this cycle. He joins defensive lineman Brandon Brown, edge rusher Lance Jackson, and linebacker Elijah Barnes as the fourth defensive commitment for Texas.

Prior to Chester’s commitment, Texas’ class was ranked No. 12 nationally and No. 7 in the SEC. Chester, who has received 39 total offers, has already visited TCU and has upcoming official visits scheduled for Texas A&M on June 14 and Arkansas on June 21.
