**Five-Star USC Commit Julian Lewis: ‘I’m Still Locked In with USC’**
Five-star USC football quarterback commit Julian Lewis spoke with 247Sports national writer Tom Loy at the check-in for the Elite 11 Finals on Tuesday. Despite taking an official visit to Auburn last weekend, Lewis reaffirmed his commitment to USC, saying, “I’m still locked in with USC.”
Lewis’ recruitment journey has been tumultuous for USC fans, involving official visits to Indiana and Auburn, even after his commitment to USC. He plans to visit Boulder, Colorado, this weekend for his final official visit.
After his Colorado trip, Lewis aims to finalize his recruitment before his last high school football season.
“That’s still my plan to try and get it over with now, so I can focus on my last year,” he told Loy.
His commitment to USC is encouraging, and a source told USCFootball.com that USC coach Lincoln Riley is confident Lewis will eventually sign with the Trojans. However, some behind-the-scenes work remains.
Lewis’ father, TC, mentioned to USCFootball.com that he has been in constant contact with Riley since arriving in Los Angeles. Riley is expected to make another in-person recruiting pitch to Julian during the Elite 11 Finals this week. Ideally, this would lead to Lewis ending his recruitment and not visiting Colorado, but a source indicated that is unlikely to happen.
Thus, USC will need to continue being patient.
