Good News: Just In LSU Tigers Confirm The Signing Of Another Top Experienced SEC Star

LSU baseball has strengthened its roster by adding an experienced outfielder from the SEC through the transfer portal. Auburn outfielder and draft-eligible sophomore Chris Stanfield announced his commitment to LSU on social media Tuesday.

During the past season, Stanfield hit four home runs and recorded a .760 OPS over 52 games. Over his two seasons at Auburn, he tallied seven home runs and a .776 OPS. He played all 52 games in center field this year for Auburn.

A graduate of Lawton Chiles High in Florida, Stanfield was ranked as the No. 84 recruit in the nation for the Class of 2022 by Perfect Game, and was the No. 17 player and No. 5 outfielder in Florida.

Stanfield is the sixth player LSU has acquired from the transfer portal this offseason, alongside right-handed pitchers Chandler Dorsey, Luke Hayden, Zac Cowan, Deven Sheerin, and first baseman Luis Hernandez.

Additionally, LSU has secured five commitments from junior college transfers for the next season.

Stanfield is expected to potentially fill the gap left by outfielder Paxton Kling, who played 54 games in center field last year and has entered the transfer portal. Kling is one of 11 LSU players to do so this offseason.
